Position Summary:

The Senior Manager Finance:  Government and National Accounts provides strategic business partnership support to all lines within LifeLabs Core business.  This includes all Government Contracts, General Diagnostics and Advanced Diagnostics segments of the business.  Using analytics and financial modelling to influence and advise, this position provides the business with the data and intelligence to identify opportunities to maximize both the top-line growth and bottom-line margins for existing and new sources of funding / revenue within these business segments. This position supports LifeLabs government relations strategy as well as provides recommendations to drive improved business performance and optimal pricing for the RFP customer contracting processes.  This position is responsible for completing monthly business unit performance reviews to monitor performance, the annual budget and forecast process updates, the 5-year plan and any financial modelling / business cases required to support current and future impacts of opportunities for these business segments through a team of financial analysts.


  • Monthly Business Unit Performance Reviews:  Working in conjunction with the establish a working partnership and framework to analyze and communicate results of these business units on a monthly basis.   This framework will include traditional variance analysis, performance monitoring, visual dashboards to measure in-process metrics as well as progress / tracking on the achievement and course corrections of any segment initiatives

  • Annual Budget, Forecast Updates and 5-year Plan Development: Lead the processes across the Analytics and Business Partnerhips:  Develop analytical frameworks and tools to assist the Government Contracts, General Diagnostics and Advanced Diagnostics segments of the making data-driven decisions, including pricing activities, new business ventures, new product lines, margin analysis, low-volume/margin test rationalization, product divestitures, capital investments, RFP activities for customers, contract negotiations and more broadly any other innovations, strategic initiatives and ad hoc analysis as required to enable business decisions.  Leverage tools to enable business case development and documentation, inclusive of both capital requirements and investment returns / payback

  • Identify, develop and implement opportunities to consolidate, standardize and automate processes within the team to deliver more efficient and effective processes and improved Ability to perform ad hoc projects in support of the CFO and Head of Commercial Finance

University Degree

  • 8-10 years of experience

  • Accounting Designation, CPA and /or MBA

  • Experience working in an environment with a strong operational and regulatory focus (i.e. manufacturing, pharma)

  • 3-5 years people leadership experience

  • Deep understanding of finance processes and data requirements

  • Exceptional management and leadership presentation capabiltiies
