Interior Health is hiring multiple Food Service Workers (casual, part-time, full time, temporary) for Royal Inland Hospital & Ponderosa in Kamloops, BC. If you hold a valid Food Safe certificate and have an open and flexible schedule to work days and evenings that include weekend shifts, then we want to hear from you!
The right candidate(s) will have a flexible and reasonably open schedule to work rotating day shifts, including weekends.
Hours of work: Rotating Day shifts from 06:30 to 14:30, 05:30 to 13:40, 07:20 to 15:30, 05:00 to 13:10, 06:45 to 14:55, 07:45 to 15:55, 11:45 to 19:55, 09:30 to 17:40, 12:00 to 16:30, 07:00 to 15:00
As a team player you will perform a variety of duties within a Food Service Operation such as:
• Portioning and serving meals and beverages within a dining room and/or cafeteria operation;
• Counts, weighs and/or measures ingredients for assigned food preparation area;
• Washing and peeling vegetables and fruit;
• Assembles beverages and food items – tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, items for Meals on Wheels;
• Washing dishes and utensils;
• Setting up and delivering meal carts;
• Cleaning of food service areas.
• Clerical duties such as answering the telephone, filing, writing information on menu cards
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 10,
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Food Safe Certificate
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work
• Ability to operate related equipment.
